The Central Texas Chapter, responsible for overseeing a region spanning more than 50,000 square miles, held a comprehensive two-day symposium focusing on education, networking, and idea sharing. With a special track on General Environmental Health, the event highlighed the Chapter's dedication to public health and safety. We were grateful for the opportunity to have presented at this event and to have engaged with fellow professionals who are equally dedicated to our field. Our participation emphasizes the importance of collaboration in advancing public health and safety standards.
The Texas Environmental Health Association (TEHA), founded in 1956, has consistently championed the enhancement of environmental health and public safety across the state. Originating as the Texas Association of Sanitarians, TEHA has played a pivotal role in the professional growth of sanitarians and environmental health experts, highlighted by its efforts to pass the Texas statute for the Registration of Professional Sanitarians in 1965.
Spanning six chapters—Central Texas, East Texas, Gulf Coast, North Texas, Panhandle West Texas, and South Texas—TEHA's efforts bolster the mission to improve health and environmental conditions. The Spring Conference by the Central Texas Chapter was a key event for environmental health professionals, offering a venue for sharing knowledge, networking, and discovering new approaches to address current public health issues.
